Thanksgiving Music

Some songs I'm currently obsessed with but they really have no relation to Thanksgiving; I just happen to love them around the fourth Thursday in November. Most of these are not new releases, rather new discoveries of mine!

Chiddy Bang - Breakfast

Yellow Claw - PU$$YRICH

Lorde - Team

Alt-J - Tessellate (Acoustic Version)

Far East Movement and RiFF RAFF - The Illest

Daughter - Candles

Rudimental ft. Childish Gambino - Feel The Love

Also check out some new releases:
Sammy Adams - Homecoming EP
Alt-J - Summer Remix EP (remixes of their past music)

TGIF - Pizza + This Is Us

Me on the right & Helena on the left

3D glasses - wish 1D had customized ones like Justin Bieber did!

Friday night was amazing to say the least. Helena, one of my closest friends and a fellow directioner, and I planned this day for weeks with so much anticipation for the premiere of This Is Us, One Direction's documentary. As Helena's a bigger fan than I am, she managed to convince me to have a girl's night with a dinner and movie premiere.

After painfully finishing my first AP Econ test of the year and an extremely sweaty volleyball practice, I met up with Helena and we managed to look fabulous without a shower. We decided head downtown for a authentic Italian pizza at Three Palms Pizzeria. There we were sat at the bar (we're 16???) and we ordered a yummy Polpettina pizza with sliced meatballs, San Marzano tomato, and fresh mozzarella cheese.

The constant chatter between us and Helena's occasional glance at her Candy Crush game during dinner allowed the time to slip away from us. We arrived a little late at the movie theater but nevertheless, we were so, so, SO pumped to finally watch the documentary. Running into theater #15, we ripped our 3D glasses out of the plastic wrapper and found a decent seat a couple of rows from the top. Thankfully, the previews were still on so we hadn't missed anything.

The film was incredibly enjoyable minus the screaming pre-teen girls sitting in the front half of the theater. I applaud the editing especially during the concert clips which included shows from the most famous arenas in the world—Madison Square Garden and the O2 Arena. For those of you who haven't gotten a chance to see it, I won't ruin anything for you although so many clips have already been released!

As for makeup, I kept it simple with a light layer of foundation, some powder, and bronzer. I skipped eyeshadow and added a medium coat of mascara with black tightlining. To finish off the look I applied some of my favorite Korres Wild Rose lip butter.

Let me know what you thought of This Is Us!

REVIEW: Urban Outfitters' "Sunshine" nail polish

My left hand painted Urban Outfitters's Sunshine

Since summer was right around the corner (it's almost autumn now, eek!), I wanted to pick up some brighter shades of nail polish perfect for the season. I stopped by Urban Outfitters during my recent trip to Chicago and picked up three bottles. I've never tried UO's nail polish before so I was eager to give it a go especially with a nice price of $5 or 2/$8. I finally got around to doing my nails today in Sunshine. It's a bright, bright yellow but not quite neon. It is so pretty and eye-catching without drawing too much attention like a neon might. Although I was initially impressed with the color, I was disappointed with the formula. The first coat I applied was streaky and not at all opaque. After applying a second coat, I inspected the polish and still wasn't too impressed. My nails turned out to be a lovely shiny sunshine yellow as the name suggests but the color was not evenly dispersed so they were a little disappointing.

Final: B

Notice—I think all solid colors from Urban are a bit streaky as I tried another color I picked up the other day. The outcome was very similar to Sunshine with a nice color but a disappointing formula.

OOTD: All black everything

Sorry for the bad iPhone quality of this shot. This was an impromptu OOTD.

Today I did some extra shopping for my upcoming Europe trip. Although I did manage to snag a couple pieces, I'm still missing the actual item I was looking for—a comfortable pair of walking shoes. I've contemplated buying a new pair of Converse, sandals, Vans.. nothing spotted! Anyone have a good recommendation?

This outfit seems a little plain for the summer heat but I really liked it as it's quite my style! I'm a big fan of monochrome and specifically black for this look. I was especially excited today because this has been my first outing with my new Alexander Wang Rocco bag.

Outfit:
Black dress - Theory (I've had the beading added to the neckline)
Nude sandals - Stuart Weitzman
Earrings - boutique in China
Sunnies - Urban Outfitters
Bag - Alexander Wang
Watch (mostly hidden behind the strap) - Nordstrom's
Nails - Urban Outfitters's Sunshine (review coming soon, watch out)
